I was raised on a farm just north of Lytton, Iowa, along with my older sister and 4 brothers. I graduated from Lytton High School, and then received my BA in Health and Physical Education with minors in Coaching and Drivers Education from Wayne State. I then attended Drake University and completed my MA in Educational Administration in 1995. I have then continued my education and received my Educational Specialist Degree in 2007 from Wayne State.I began my educational career at Sioux Valley Community school teaching social studies, health, and physical education, and coaching basketball and baseball. When Sioux Central was formed, I taught in the middle school for 3 years and also was the athletic director at that time. In 1994, I became the middle school principal, and a year later the secondary principal for grades 6-12. I am currently still the head baseball coach at Sioux Central as well.Personally, I love to be active in a variety of activities. I spend some of my free time in the outdoors whenever possible. I love to pheasant hunt with my German Short Hair, Jack , and of course hunting with my youngest daughter Nicole. If it is not hunting season, I love to find sometime to be out fishing!! Usually this is a family affair, and just so you know, I'm still the best fisherman in the boat!! That is if I get time to fish when they are along!! Otherwise, I try to make sure I work out on a regular basis with running and spending time up in the Sioux Central Fitness Center.I also enjoy watching my favorite athletic teams play and catch all the Rebels teams in action throughout the year. Here is a list of my favorite teams that I follow:College: Iowa Hawkeyes and my Wayne State WildcatsMLB:Minnesota TwinsNFL: Kansas City ChiefsNBA: Milwaukee BucksMy wife Lynn and myself reside in Peterson. Lynn is the Executive Director at Vision Care in Storm Lake, My daughter Briana, my oldest, finished her doctorate at Creighton in Occupational Therapy and is working as an OT for the AEA out of the Storm Lake office. My middle daughter Brooke, is teaching Kindergarten at Southeast Polk and Nicole, our youngest will be a junior at UNI this fall studying Communication Disorders.
