About Me...

  • Hello! My name is Mrs. Shelley Scuffham and I want to welcome you to our Kindergarten class. I am excited about the start of a new school year and look forward to getting to know my new students and their parents. Please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself.

I grew up in Algona, Iowa where I graduated from Algona High School. I went on to study at Buena Vista College earning degrees in elementary and special education and an endorsement in reading. I spent the first 21 years of my career teaching elementary special education at Sioux Central School. In 2007 I was ready for a new challenge and made the move to Kindergarten. I love the enthusium that kindergarteners have for learning! It makes our classroom an exciting place to be!

My husband, Kevin, and I live in Storm Lake. We have been blessed with two wonderful children. Our daughter Ashley graduated from Iowa State University and lives in Ames. Our son Josh graduated from Buena Vista University and resides in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy traveling, reading, gardening, scrapbooking, swimming and riding my bicycle.

To you parents out there, thank you for allowing me the privilage of working with your child this year. It is my hope that we can work together to make this school year a positive experience. Please contact me if there is anything you would like me to know about your child. Together we can help your child develop a genuine love of learning.
