Dear Sioux Central Community,

I hope everyone is staying safe and well. I wanted to give the community an update surrounding COVID-19. We strive to do our best to keep both the students and staff here at Sioux Central safe. We have had 1 new positive student case, bringing our total to 13 total students or 2% of our entire student body. We currently have a total of 11 students total still in quarantine, with only 7 new quarantined since 10/07/2020. Sioux Central has had a total of 77 students quarantined or 12% of our student body since 8/24/2020. We have had a total of nine staff members test positive with everyone back in the building with “0” new staff cases this week.

Teachers are starting to do some student separation in the classroom based on those wearing masks and not wearing masks, to prevent students from having to quarantine if a positive case arises. Our goal is to keep students safe and in school.  Please continue to encourage your child to wear a mask to slow the spread, especially with the new guidance that was shared last week by public health!  Do your part by wearing a mask to protect yourself and others!

Go Rebels!

Mr. Wood
