KINDERGARTEN

A child is eligible to enroll in kindergarten your child must be 5 years old on or before September 15 of the current school year.

Kindergarten students must be residents of the Sioux Central school district or file the appropriate paperwork.

In kindergarten, the students learn beginning reading, math, language arts, science and social skills. They also learn how to get along with others and have classes in art, music, guidance, library, and physical education.

If there is sufficient enrollment and space available, we will offer a Transitional Kindergarten Program (TK). To be eligible for TK, children must be five years old by September 15, and be recommended by their preschool teacher. A year of TK is always followed by a year of kindergarten. The TK class will follow the K-12 calendar and classes are held five days a week.
