Should you keep your child home or send them to school?? School policy requires a child to stay home if they have a fever of 100.0 degrees or higher, has been vomiting or has diarrhea, has symptoms that keeps your child from participating in school (very tired, lack of appetite, heahache, sore throat, etc.). Please keep your child home if they are coughing or sneezing often becuase this spreads the sickness to others. Keep in mind the 24 hour rule when deciding if you child can return to school (24 hours without a fever WITHOUT medicine, 24 since the last time they vomited or had diarrhea, 24 hours after the first dose of antibiotic for anything like ear infection or strep throat). Please feel free to contact the school nurse with any additional questions or concerns.
