Dear Sioux Central Families,
We are excited to once again offer FREE summer meals for all children through the Sioux Central Summer Food Service Program. Breakfast and lunch meals will be available throughout June for all children, regardless of income.
Program Dates:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
June 1, 2026 through June 27, 2026
Meal Pickup Time:

Attached you will find the June Summer Breakfast and Lunch Menus featuring kid-friendly favorites, fresh fruit options, and nutritious summer meals.
Important Reminders:
• Meals are provided free of charge to all children
• Meals must be picked up during the scheduled serving time
• Fresh fruit options include apples, oranges, pears, and bananas
• Meals can be picked up ONLY by the student or their parent/guardian. No siblings, grandparents, childcare providers, or other individuals will be allowed to pick up meals.

The JH BB/SB games for today (6/11/26) in Manson have been cancelled due to rain.
Good afternoon Sioux Central Community,
I wanted to provide everyone with an update. We continue to march forward with the current project. The band and choir space is getting closer to completion, and the walls should be painted within the week. After that, crews will move out into the other areas to continue getting the walls prepped for finishing into next week and beyond.
The demolition crew will be onsite the week of June 22nd. They are anticipating about 10 to 12 days of demolition, followed by rebuilding the classroom areas and the space in the commons. We are hopeful things continue to move forward and remain close to the intended schedule.
As a reminder, please limit traffic in the building once the heavy work starts for safety reasons. Make sure to call ahead to ensure someone is onsite if you need assistance, as summer hours vary and there are only a few of us here throughout the summer. Also, as another friendly reminder, the main gym is closed and cannot be used by individuals or groups until June 15th. The weight room will be accessible, but the gym itself is not. Please stay out of the gym area while it is being worked on.
For visual updates on our progress, you can refer to the aerial views of the campus construction Additionally, you can see the ongoing drywall and interior framing progress. I hope to share some additional pictures after the painting begins and we have a hole in the existing building leading out to the new addition.

The start time of the baseball games today has been moved back to 11 am. We will adjust the schedule by an hour. So games are now scheduled for 11/1/3.
Students in the Equine May Term learned about equine management and the horse industry through tours and visits to Bledsoe Boutique and Ranch, Iowa Central Community College, Ellsworth Community College, Jester Park Equestrian Center, Iowa Equine, and the Iowa State University Horse Barns.
Students in the Health Careers May Term also visited the Sioux Rapids Fire Station to learn more about emergency response, fire services, and healthcare-related career opportunities.

The middle school 'Dance' May Term did an amazing job learning 6 different line dances, a simple 2-step waltz, swing dance, and square dance basics this week. We were even joined by a few extra May Term kiddos Friday afternoon, which was extra fun! Here's to some great high school and middle school dances, with all their newfound knowledge!

Throughout the visits, students learned about healthcare programs, career opportunities, campus life, and the many paths available after high school. Experiences like these help students connect classroom learning with future goals and possibilities.
