The Young Adult Living class, taught by Mr. Krager, had the opportunity to tour a home and meet with a real estate agent. Tanner Perrigo, a graduate of Sioux Central, now employed by Exit Realty, spoke to the students about things to consider and look at when buying a home. Tanner’s expertise was very interesting and gave the students a real life experience. “This was a great experience for the kids to apply what they had learned in the classroom and see and listen to how it pertained to buying a house. Tanner had great points of interest and really put it into terms for the kids to understand. I appreciate him taking the time to make this happen.”
3rd-8th grade Spring Volleyball Camp forms will be due March 10th. Please return forms to Coach Grossnickle.

Sioux Central Elementary was blessed to have Julia Cook visit our school this morning. Julia is a nationally-recognized, award-winning children’s book author and parenting expert, and her books have been referenced in such publications as Parent’s Magazine, The New Yorker, Green Child Magazine, The Huffington Post, The Chicago Tribune, Yahoo.com, DrLaura.com and BabyZone.com. She read several of her books to students and shared memorable stories reminding students the importance of being lifelong problem solvers! She gave our kiddos the “what to say” and the “how to say it.” We even had the chance to meet her dogs, miniature chihuahuas:). Watch for book orders coming home. If your family decides to order any books, send the order form back to school. Tax and shipping will be waived, and books will be sent directly to the school and delivered to students.

Head chef Lydia Thams took us on a trip back to our childhood to relive our fondest Disney memories! Her guests enjoyed spaghetti & meatballs and spinach puffs. For dessert, a Scottish cookie w/ sweet icing and a glacé cherry & cookies and cream dessert from Beauty and the Beast.
