Congratulations to our Staff Spotlighters this week!
Middle school students competed on Saturday in Swea City for quiz bowl. Out of 22 teams that competed, this group of four amazing students made it to the playoffs, and they walked away placing 4th out of 22 local area teams. Great job for your FIRST time competing! #Very Proud!

Music Senior Spotlight: Chloe Smith
Chloe has been a member of music at SC for as long as she can remember, choir for two years and band all four years of HS. Chloe says to do music at SC because pep band is awesome! Her favorite choir song was "I'm Still Standing" and her favorite band song was "A Day at the Circus". Chloe's favorite memory in the music department is being with her band friends. Thank you, Chloe!

Reminder...all Spring Volleyball Camp forms are due by this Friday, April 5th to insure a t-shirt will be available. This camp is for volleyball players in grades 3rd-8th.
Due to the weather the HS girls track meet for today has been postponed. A make-up date will be announced at a later time.
The HS boys track meet for today has been cancelled due to weather. It will not be rescheduled.
Senior Spotlight: Angel Lively
Angel has been involved in band for 3 years and choir for 4. She has also been a part of jazz band, Solo/Ensemble contest, and Legally Blonde the musical. When asked why music at SC, Angel said "Outside of music rooms and performance can not always be the prettiest sight with how highschool students treat each other, however through music at sioux central we come together when singing and playing instruments and it is really beautiful to see as well as the awesome feeling of being apart of a community." Her favorite choral song she's sung is "The Runner" and her favorite band song was "Seven Nation Army" in pep band. "My favorite memory from my time in the music department for choir is the concerts and my favorite memory from band would be playing for homecoming and all the pep bands. I listed one for both choir and band because they each provide different memories and I just couldn't bring myself to choose between the two. By the time I leave Sioux C
entral I will still forever love doing choir and band here, as well as I will never forget my choir director and band director. They have had such an impact on me and have helped me get through tough times and they did not even know it. Thank you Mrs. DeBolt and Mr. Perry." Thank you, Angel!

Allison Ehlers had a wonderful performance at the All-State Speech Festival on Monday! She had a great support crew along with her, who were inspired by not only her performance, but the many other talented students from across Iowa.

Music Senior Spotlight: Rebekah Buettner
Rebekah has been involved in band and choir all 4 years of HS, as well as Cyrano de Burgershack, Legally Blonde, and solo/ensemble contest. Rebekah says she chose music at Sioux Central because "I have always had so much fun participating in our band and choir, but my favorite part is the concerts." Her favorite song in choir was A Medley from Jekyll & Hyde from this past Pops Concert. Her favorite song from band was either "Game of Thrones" or "The Hunger Games". Her favorite memory from the music department "has to be when we performed A Christmas Carol for band. The narration and music sounded amazing at our Christmas concert!" Thank you Rebekah!
