Students in 6th and 7th grade social studies and High School Geography participated in the Iowa Youth Straw Poll this week! Schools across the state can participate in this event which is put on by Iowa's Secretary of State. First, students discussed the importance of voting to make their voice heard in our government. Before students cast their ballots, they researched candidates to become informed voters! #BeAVoter

Cross Country State Qualifiers
The 2nd graders have been studying and researching schools around the world. Some schools include the tent school in Haiti, the boat school in Bangladesh, and the doorstep school in India. They compared and contrasted these schools with Sioux Central. They put all of their research into a book. They shared their book with the Kindergarten class this morning. Great work, 2nd graders! https://youtu.be/yyuSbIIbTDc

For a service project, our National Honor Society adopted the Engeltjes family from Everly who tragically lost wife/mother Courtney in a car accident recently. Through PIe-in-Face Homecoming fundraiser and passing the bucket at games, they raised $1600 for this family. We take care of each other in NW Iowa. #RebelPride
