It's Homecoming Week at Sioux Central, and it's time for another STAFF SPOTLIGHT!! Thinking about all the happenings at school this week, this quote seemed to be fitting: "A teacher's job is to take a bunch of live wires and see that they are well-grounded" (Darwin D. Martin). Thank you to all SC staff for keeping this week's learnings and events running smoothly and keeping us grounded during a week of craziness - and CONGRATULATIONS to this week's Spotlight teachers!

Sioux Central Community, I am very pleased to report that we have 36 of 38 fifth grade students that have elected to Be Part of the Band this year! Getting instruments to students in need is still our greatest challenge each year with a growing band program. If you have an instrument at home that is unused, the band program would gladly accept any instrument as a tax deductible donation to help a student that cannot afford an instrument of their own. I also like to keep a list of good used instruments that are for sale so we can make those connections in our communities. Right now the instruments most needed are flutes, clarinets, and trumpets. And if you do not have an instrument, but want to make a monetary donation, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you for your ongoing support for the arts here at Sioux Central. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Perry at aperry@siouxcentral.org or 712-283-2571 ex 3410.

1st through 5th grade students were challenged in their first week of coding class to remember their iPad and Chromebook skills they learned last year. For every skill they remembered, Mrs. Morris promised the students that she would let them embarrass her by placing a sticker on her face and posting the picture on the school website! As you can see, these students did not disappoint!
