Wednesday, August 17 marked the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year for staff at Sioux Central!
Introducing Sioux Central's new staff - welcome to the Rebel family! Come and meet them at the Back to School BBQ on Monday, August 22 from 6:00-7:30.
Sioux Central staff will be conducting training on August 18th from 9-10:30 AM with the BV County Law Enforcement. The building will be closed to the public at that time so that officials can conduct an emergency response drill. We are excited to partner with local law enforcement to keep our students and staff safe.
Junior High athletes: you need to have a completed physical and concussion form in order to participate in any practices. These forms are available in the main office. Contact Al Vasher or Stephen Tjaden with any questions.

Sioux Central Football Cheerleaders will be hosting a LITTLE REBEL CHEER CAMP for students in Kindergarten - 5th grade on September 8 and 9. We realize this is early in the season, so wanted to get information out as soon as possible. Cheer forms need to be turned in by FRIDAY, AUGUST 26. Teachers will have copies during their open house visits as well. Please contact Alyssa Rusk with any questions.

7th/8th grade students wanting to participate in Junior High football: There will be a meeting/equipment hand out on 8/23 (first day of school) from 3:45-4:30. Please make sure athletic physical/concussion forms are turned into the office so you may participate.

Congratulations to FFA members Laina Sangwin and Annaliese Bloom, both invited to the World Food Prize Global Youth Institute in October, for their research about global food security issues and solutions.
This spring students in Mrs. Tate's English class submitted original picture books to the Iowa Ag Literacy "Bushels of Stories" contest. Karina Bloom placed 3rd in the middle school division with her informational story, "Cattle Feed from Start to Finish." She was awarded a plaque and a check for $50.

REMINDER: All incoming 7th graders are required to have the Tdap AND the Meningitis vaccines before they can start school!
The incoming 12th graders are required to have their 2nd Meningitis vaccine prior to school starting as well.
The 1st Day of School for Sioux Central Middle and High School is Tuesday, August 23. Elementary will be setting up conferences with parents for August 23 from 12:00-8:00 pm and August 24 from 8:00-4:00. The 1st Day of school for Sioux Central Elementary is Thursday, August 25.
The Varsity baseball team will play in the district final tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. in Pocahontas vs. Pocahontas. Tickets will need to be purchased online at https://www.iahsaa.org/tickets/. Go Rebels!
