Participating local fire departments, in conjunction with Sioux Central, have established a Youth Firefighter Program. Any Junior or Senior attending Sioux Central may pick up an application form and parent waiver from Mr. Jarvis in room 311. Applications need to be returned to Mr. Jarvis by September 10, 2021
The ongoing mission is to encourage and foster young individuals who display a civic minded desire towards being an active member of their community by pursuing a course of action with their local Fire Department and the idea of giving back to the community through volunteerism. This program is designed to provide the operational guidelines and leadership skills needed for any individual student to prepare themselves to become a regular firefighter in any volunteer or career fire department.

The first day of classes for the 2021-22 school year for middle and high school students is August 23. Like last year, elementary students will start August 25 to allow time for conferences with parents/students. Teachers will contact parents to set these up. Open House for middle and high school students will be the evening of August 19 from 6:00-7:30. More info to come in the next couple weeks. We look forward to seeing everyone very soon.
