Retirement Plans: Survive COVID-19 and then travel a bit with Pixie, play ukulele, and work a little at Walmart, mow, fix fence, and give back. Advice for future teachers: Be open, be flexible, be curious, ask questions, and laugh!Taught 30 years at Sioux Central, 1 year in New Hampshire and subbed for 1 year, my career includes teaching 3rd grade, 5th-6th grades, and middle school science. Favorite Memory: There are so many….Most are related to the NASA Explorer School Grant and status. Flying on NASA’s KC135 Microgravity Research Plane.  The kids had written code for a “robot” we built to be in microgravity, and we filmed the results.  Kim Anderson, a second grade teacher at the time, and I got to spend a week at Johnson Space Center doing that. All the trips to Johnson Space Center with students to participate in the Space Settlement Design Competition. The NASA Explorer School workshops at NASA Centers across the country with fantastic educators. Space Camp for educators was amazing. Proud Moment: Getting the NASA grant and all the opportunities it gave our teachers and students when we had the grant and how those experiences have shaped my teaching.

Last evening, we ended the year with an elementary reverse parade. It was wonderful seeing all who drove through. Thank you to our local fire stations and EMS who kicked off the parade! We love our #SiouxCentral community support! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEEGqSYsyiY

After much discussion from local and state leaders, we have decided to not hold Sioux Central's Prom for this year. We know it is unfortunate for all our juniors and seniors, so the "After Prom" committee is still looking on how they can pull a little something off in July.
