Good Afternoon, Sioux Central Staff, Students, and Community,
I wanted to provide an exciting update on the upcoming auditorium project and renovations. This journey has been both rewarding and, at times, a bit stressful, but we’ve recently received some important and thrilling news.
We’re excited to announce that playground work will begin in April! During this time, our elementary students will use the athletic facilities and gyms for recess as needed. Starting this phase earlier allows us to begin construction sooner, potentially leading to an earlier project completion—assuming everything goes according to plan.
Once construction is underway, we anticipate the Auditorium, Choir, and Band spaces to be completed by August 2026! If all goes smoothly, we look forward to using the new auditorium and facilities during the 2026-2027 school year. This is truly exciting news!
Following this, Phase II will begin, focusing on renovating the old Band and Choir spaces. This phase will create a new Agricultural space, a new concession stand, and a multi-purpose classroom. As we learn more about this next phase, I will keep everyone updated.
We are thrilled to embark on this journey, and I’ll be sure to share plenty of photos as progress is made.

The Krispy Kreme donuts for the speech fundraiser were set to be delivered today, but due to the weather they will be delayed! The order may not be able to be fulfilled this week, due to other fundraising through the company, but we will be getting them in the near future. The field trip for 2nd--4th grade for tomorrow, Tuesday Feb. 11th, has been canceled due to weather. We are looking into rescheduling but don't have any confirmation on this as this was a special education day. We are so disappointed as we know the kids were so excited.

A few tips if you stop in to see their performances: there will be a $5 donation at the door, and please refrain from wearing any Rebel gear as it gives us a fair advantage against all other schools in NW Iowa.
Come out and enjoy the Freshmen Science Fair in our elementary gym today. We have 48 presentations that are looking to qualify for the state science fair in Ames. Feel free to stop by between 12:45 and 2:30 to listen to the presentations.
