This spring students in Mrs. Tate's English class submitted original picture books to the Iowa Ag Literacy "Bushels of Stories" contest. Karina Bloom placed 3rd in the middle school division with her informational story, "Cattle Feed from Start to Finish." She was awarded a plaque and a check for $50. Congratulations Karina!

REMINDER: All incoming 7th graders are required to have the Tdap AND the Meningitis vaccines before they can start school! The incoming 12th graders are required to have their 2nd Meningitis vaccine prior to school starting as well.

The 1st Day of School for Sioux Central Middle and High School is Tuesday, August 23. Elementary will be setting up conferences with parents for August 23 from 12:00-8:00 pm and August 24 from 8:00-4:00. The 1st Day of school for Sioux Central Elementary is Thursday, August 25.

Sioux Central Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to earn credit through the Youth Fire Department Opportunity. Students go through a course and apply service hours for a credit while helping out the local fire agencies. See Mr. Scharn for more details.

Due to low numbers the times for baseball games tonight have been changed. Varsity will play at 6:00 p.m. and JV will play 3 innings after varsity. This applies to BASEBALL ONLY. Softball will go as scheduled JVR/JV/V starting at 3:45 p.m.
